Matt Smith is the founder and optician behind That Glasses Guy — he is That Glasses Guy. Every client works with him directly, start to finish. Matt reads your face, your wardrobe and your prescription together, then pairs them with lens designs and finishing touches that are equal parts optics and fashion. We call it Eye Fashion.
Creator
Every frame and lens combination is designed by hand for the person wearing it — custom tints, colour washes, coatings and fits built around how you live and how you want to be seen.
Who He Is
It started with cars. Mechanical hearts, flowing body lines, things built beautifully on purpose. When Matt found eyewear, he found the same balance of engineering and design in something you wear on your face every day — and he never looked back.

Choosing eyewear should feel like an experience, never a chore. That Glasses Guy is appointment-based by design: your time is reserved, the room is yours, and Matt's attention is entirely on you. Book a private fitting, meet virtually from anywhere, or have Matt come to you with our concierge private fitting.
Tell us the occasion, the feeling, the version of yourself you want to see in the mirror — boardroom, black tie or a spicy pairing for a night out — and we'll make selecting it effortless. With no exam room and no clinic conveyor belt, our focus stays on craftsmanship, fit and style, with your appearance and optical clarity at the forefront.
Our Craft
Eyewear Goals
We put the "fun" back in functional fashion — dress frames, statement sunglasses and everything in between. Our collection is curated almost entirely from independent houses such as T Henri, Anna-Karin Karlsson, Blake Kuwahara, Leisure Society, Bevel, Laibach & York, Tallulah Lee, Sospiri and Nuage: designers you won't find at the mall, chosen for character and build quality.
Matt has rebuilt the optical process from the ground up, and it looks nothing like a typical optical store. Each piece gets an artisanal approach — whether it's a clear everyday pair, a custom fashion tint or colour wash, or the signature look that becomes part of your personal brand.
